This is a paid piece from Wayne & Mary's Nutrition Center.

Simplified: Donating school supplies can help you save money on supporting your own children's nutrition. Throughout the month of July, Wayne & Mary's Nutrition Center is offering a 10% discount to customers who bring in school supplies to donate.

Why it matters

  • It's the third year in a row that Wayne & Mary's Nutrition Center is running a school supply drive for Project SOS, an annual effort to collect school supply and backpack donations for Sioux Falls kids in need.
  • The annual drive is a way to give back to the community and support kids' wellbeing by making sure they have what they need to be successful in school.
  • Wayne & Mary's also offers a wide variety of products to help support kids wellbeing in their physical and mental health – including products to support immunity, brain development, and well-rounded nutrition overall.
"Kids' health sets them for success for the future, and this school supply drive is one small way to help support families in need in the community," Co-owner Andrew Reinartz said.

Tell me more about supplements and nutrition for kids

Wayne & Mary's has a number of multivitamins available for kids – especially those who are picky eaters.

"There’s just a lot of things where sneaky nutrient deficiencies can wreak a lot of havoc both short-term and long-term – a good quality multivitamin can make a big difference for kids," Co-owner Rosanne Reinartz said.

There are also a number of immune-support options, including a new line of alcohol-free tinctures that parents can mix into water or juice.

The goal with all of the store's products to support kids is that they're items kids will actually be able (and willing) to use – like gummies, chewables, liquids and even sprays.

  • They've even got a zero-sugar gummy from brand Nordic Naturals that gives kids all the benefits of fish oil without the fishy taste.

What should I bring for school supplies?

Pencils, scissors, glue, markers, crayons – your guesses are probably right, but if you want you can see a detailed list of items needed on the Project SOS website.

And where do I take them?

Drop the school supplies off at either of the two Wayne & Mary's locations in town: 3700 S. Kiwanis Ave. or 1518 S. Sycamore Ave.
