No. 2 Brandon Valley scores early and often over Washington
Two weeks ago, Brandon Valley was ranked No. 1 in Class 11AAA.
No. 2 Jefferson beat them, and the Lynx didn’t take it lightly.
On Friday at Howard Wood Field, the Lynx took their frustrations out on unranked Sioux Falls Washington as running back Ryder Mueller rushed for 244 yards on 10 carries with four touchdowns and the Lynx rolled 49-14.
And it didn’t take him long to start stacking the yardage.
In Mueller’s first two carries – both touchdown runs - the junior ran for a total of 116 yards and Brandon Valley was up 14-0 in a blink.

While Mueller was having his way with the Washington defense, the Brandon Valley offensive line was blowing out massive holes for the 5-foot-9, 180-pound rusher. On multiple runs, Mueller was never touched as he continued to gobble up Howard Wood real estate.
“Just massive holes,” Brandon Valley Head Coach Matt Christensen said. “I was a little surprised we opened those big plays like that, but that’s a determined young man. Ryder was on a mission. He’s such a competitor. Of course he’s a good runner, but he’s a really big blocker.”
