An annual point-in-time count of the unhoused population in Sioux Falls showed a slight decrease for the first time in five years, according to data released by the city earlier this week. It's just one metric, but it shows that some of the programs – including street outreach and setting aside some Section 8 housing vouchers for chronically homeless people – are having an impact.
