At Sanford, the top boy names (in order) were Liam, Oliver, Theodore, Leo and in an four-way tie for fifth place were William/Noah/Jack/James. For girls, the top five were Emma, Lainey (tied with Charlotte), Ella and Ellie. At Avera, the top girl names were Lainey, Evelyn, Amelia, Eleanor and Emma. Top boy names at Avera were Liam, Noah, Henry, Hudson and Cooper.
- The month with the most births for both hospitals was July. Sanford saw 9,000 births, and Avera saw just over 6,200.
- A new downtown grocery store. Pomegranate Market will open its downtown location at Cherapa Place today.
