Q&A: Meet Jordan Kidd

This segment has been edited and shortened for clarity. Answers are all from Kidd.

What's your background? I grew up in Sioux Falls and previously worked for a manufacturing company. I didn't like just standing in one spot. I got connected to Silverstar through a friend who's a manager here, and it was a lot of talk about being able to move up in the company, which at my old job wasn't an opportunity.

What's your favorite thing about working at Silverstar? Giving out dog treats. We get these customers who are always bringing their dogs, and the dogs just hang out the window waiting for you to give that dog treat. They know, car wash equals treat.

What's something about working for a car wash that you didn't expect? There's a lot more to the car wash than just washing cars. There's a lot more that goes into the maintenance, keeping everything clean and keeping everything running.

What would you say to someone who's never tried a Silverstar Car Wash? It's a great environment. The team in the bay are always having fun, dancing, and your car's also getting clean.

What do you do for fun outside of work? I play softball and football.

What's next for you? I've had a month or so of being an assistant manager in training, so my next step is to keep learning and keep setting goals for myself and other employees.
